I bought one of these to use with my MacBook which serves as my media player at home. About 4 years ago I ripped my entire CD collection to Apple Lossless files, but I hadn't heard those recordings sound this good since. I have the DAC707 feeding a pair of powered Genelecs, and the sound is fantastic, night and day from feeding directly out of the computer. I also used this DAC to monitor some mixes I did in Pro Tools and found the high-end to be super-detailed, and the bottom end tight and clean. My mixes translate much better to other systems when I use this DAC. For such a tiny investment, it is a HUGE leap forward in sound quality, I highly recommend it, total no-brainer.

I got this DAC in order to see if i can gain some of the sound quality I lost by having an Onkyo dvd/cd changer. The dvd/cd changer already had a pretty well regarded Wolfson DAC, but I was curious to see if this little DAC could improve anything. I was pleasantly surprised: The Onkyo already sounded very well by its own, but the 707DAC was able to improve on its sound: the highs were more pronounced, and more detail could be heard even with my pretty conservative system...The Onix x-ls speakers I have are regarded to have a laid back tweeter and the 707 brought a resolution that I previously did not notice, especially with vocal/jazz oriented music. The DAC is still in break-in period, and I have had it only for about a week, that's the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars.
