It is our first tube offering and one that we could simply not resist. Cute is not a word found in the audiophile vernacular, but... well, there it is. This amp is cute (and Wife Approval Factor will skyrocket on color selection alone).

The GLOW Amp One is well named. Its heart-warming tube glow and small footprint makes it a cheerful little addition to desktop, bedroom or main audio system. But this isn't really about looks... the sound is what matters and the AMP One's SEP-heart-and-soul sound does not disappoint.

When planning the Amp One, GLOW selected key features that the amp must have. These included: point-to-point wiring, ALPS volume control, Beijing EL84s, two dual triode drivers, 5% carbon resistors, self biasing, and a clean, uncluttered faceplate, with headphone and power connectors conveniently (but unobtrusively) located on the sides.

This versatile amp also includes a USB input. Driven by the C-Media CM-102S, it is plug-&-play compatible with PC and MAC.

This award is unapologetically concerned with extreme value. To be worthy of 6moons cheapskate recognition, uncompromising build quality and excellent performance have to coincide. Glow Amp - Versatile and Stylish April 10, 2009

I've had the new 09 version of Glow Amp One for a couple of weeks.  I am very impressed with the sound quality, build quality & style factor, as well as the versatility.  

It provides a nice dose of "tube warmth", but is VERY quiet and is not just fuzzying up the sound.  

Hard to beat it's looks.  Very sleek.  Makes you want to touch it.  Also very heavy given it's small fooprint.  

Getting the sound + style for a modest price (for a tube amp) is a great deal.  When you factor in the USB input and headphone jack the value quotient skyrockets.  Phones sound very good to me.  

I'd likely go with 4.5 stars if that were an option, just because a little more power would be nice to have.  I am using this amp for nearfield listening in a small room.  No issues at all.  But, if you have a medium or larger room you are going to struggle with SPL unless you have some higher efficiency speakers.
