Boasting an impressive full-frequency range with THD as low as 0.0005% and Signal to Noise Ratio is 126dB, the PREference Preamp is a logical extension of the very successful award-winning KingRex Preamp. KingRex also integrates and adjustable phono stage as an optional upgrade.

The design of this second-generation preamplifier from KingRex is centered around high-quality op-amps and the diamond buffer (highly praised for its musicality). A current booster has been added to the final output of the amplifier stage to enhance drivability. A DC servo circuit has also been implemented to avoid unwanted audio signal loss due to coupling capacitors. Volume control is ALPS. Gain is user selectable with a choice of 7, 14, or 18dB.

The end result is accurate and perfect signal amplification, free from coloration and yet highly adaptable -- ideal for outputting to power amplifiers. A separate high-performance power supply unit further guarantees an interference-free working condition. That's because the phonostage is really easy to be affected by the noise from the transformer. The case can shield most of the noise. But the positioning should be set parallel or when using the MC in the largest gain there will be some incoming noise. @@@

A separate high-performance power supply further guarantees a silent, interference-free environment. Extremely low ESR Panasonic FM electrolytic capacitors are located in critical paths.

Both the preamp and the PSU are housed in all-aluminum chassis. A special feature is the sliding door on top of the preamp opening up to the adjustable phono stage for ease of setting.
