I plug this small box on 2 Tekton Design 6.5 speakers and the sound is amazing. I use it for music as well as for movie. The upper and mid ranges are very well defined with excellent presence and detail. The lower bass are also good considering that I don't use any subwoofer. Depending of the size of your room some high sensitivity speakers could be required to get all the power from it.

Great Alternative to iPod Speaker Docks |

I discovered this amp after searching in vain for a decent sounding mini-system to pair with my iPod. After reading all the great reviews, I decided to plunk down my $150 and see what this little guy could do for a pair of Boston bookshelf speakers that had fallen out of use. A pleasingly warm, rich sound was the result. But the Boston CR75's cut out when I pushed the amp past the halfway point, so I wired up my slightly more efficient Boston VR-M50s instead. Problem solved. The iPod could probably stand a preamp to take advantage of the TA-10.1, but this little set up is already running rings around any of the all-in-one iPod speaker systems I've heard. I'm eager to see what The TA-10.1 can do with compact CD player and a DAC (did I mention I'm trying to keep the overall footprint of this system small?)
